Yesterday I unexpectedly unlocked two achievements: a news interview and a TV show recording. I didn’t see either coming. It all happened very suddenly.
Since I started raising my lobster (running OpenClaw) in January, I’ve given about seven OpenClaw talks and workshops. I’m a full-on OpenClaw evangelist, and counting equipment, I’ve spent close to $1,000 on it so far.
Yesterday morning, back from the gym, I got a Facebook message out of nowhere: a reporter from PTS wanted to interview an OpenClaw user about their views. Naturally, as an OpenClaw evangelist, I said yes right away.
Then I somehow scheduled it in a park with no shade… Luckily it clouded over later, or I really don’t know what I’d have done XD
In the afternoon I got another invitation, to the talk show Peak Talk. I was puzzled and figured it would just be sitting and chatting. Then I looked it up and found it was PTS’s 8:30 show, broadcast live. Apparently I should watch more TV…
The moment I sat down, my first thought was: the lights are so bright haha. Thanks to Dr. Dai Chih-yen for chatting with me before we went on, which made me a lot less nervous.
Host Peng, Dr. Dai and the production team were all incredibly good, and I became an instant fan. Their professional command of the room and how they guided the conversation, plus the sheer density of knowledge, were honestly very different from the discussions I usually see.
What people were curious about mainly came down to what OpenClaw can actually do for businesses or individuals, security issues and how to prevent them, and whether OpenClaw will replace human work. Security is something I care about a lot in my own OpenClaw use. The deeper I go, the wider the permissions I end up granting, and how to manage risk in that situation is something I’m still learning.
It was a really strange and wonderful experience. I learned what TV production is actually like, and it was eye-opening.
Thank you all for the kind words. There are plenty of people more skilled than me, so I’m grateful to luck for giving me this chance to share, and for the many impressive people I met along the way, who broadened my horizons.
